Our Story

Since 2013 in Erode, a new movement called “ERODU SIRAGUKAL” began, driven by a few individuals who recognized the importance of speaking up for trees. They formed a charitable trust under the same name, officially registered as “ERODU SIRAGUKAL” with registration number V/7 of 2013. The trust aimed to raise awareness about the vital role of trees in our lives and promote planting, nurturing, and We also motivate the younger generation to plant trees and protect the environment and mother nature.

Since its inception, the trust has garnered support from hundreds of donors and volunteers dedicated to its mission. One of their key initiatives is the Annavasal scheme, launched in 26  July, 2023, Which is Providing Food across the calendar year of 365 Days This scheme is greatly appreciated and has attracted lakhs of benefeciaries every year. Another significant effort is the Surplus food scheme, started in 2019, Another significant effort is the surplus food scheme started in 2019. Erodu Siragukal’s Surplus Food Project aims to utilize the extra food from various parts of the city and convert it into a food supply chain for the poor and needy.
We collect the extra food from restaurants, hotels, weddings, and other ceremonies. Every other extra meal being wasted can indeed satisfy someone’s hunger. we receive calls to our helpline numbers from those who would have otherwise had to throw away fresh food and then we distribute it to the nearest location. we also ensure the quality and hygiene of the food to be distributed.

The trust also initiated a plantation project in 2013, resulting in the planting of over 2 lakh 15 thousand plants to date. In addition to environmental initiatives, they launched a medical camp in 2014, benefiting over a thousand people, and a scheme to collect and distribute old clothes to the needy, helping 5000 individuals since 2019.

Through these endeavors, “ERODU SIRAGUKAL” continues to make a positive impact, fostering awareness about environmental conservation and providing crucial support to the community.
